Global Devaluation of Petroleum: The End of Nigeria?
Is issuance of certificates the only reason why there are institutions of education? If not, what else? The stage of politics in Nigeria from 1960 till date has been taken by different characters. What is the best name for the characters? Most of them were or are graduates of one institution or the other. Even past public office holders in the country had provided “cooked” certificates of universities in Toronto, Chicago etc. as qualifications. All in the bid to be seen as “graduates” for political lootings. As the nucleus of finance in Nigeria is built around petroleum, a time bomb is gathering strength for irreparable explosion and the failure-politicians in the country are so blind to see it. Two years ago, the solar plane flew around the world. I was fortunate to see it flying within the Nigerian airspace. I am not certain the then minister of petroleum in Nigeria and whoever sits in such an office now understands the future implications of that breakthrough. ...
