Democratically Fertilized Poverty

In theory, to say that democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people is absolutely correct. At least, that is what its beneficiaries and teachers of political science do say. But to claim and believe that democracy is actually the trademark of the past and present occupiers of political offices in Nigeria would be coterminous to stupidity and/or insanity.
Are you wondering why the conclusion above is a clear hardline? With confirmed information, it is poisonous to the youth of today that the federal government of Nigeria pays each selected participant in the N-Power programmes a sum of 30,000 naira (82 USD or 69 EUR) monthly. With such a meagre pay, there are troubling reasons to worry.
If the slogan of N-Power which reads: empowering Nigerian youths for prosperity, is true, then, some questions should be asked.
1.    Why are the sons and daughters of the failure-politicians in Nigeria not in the programme?

2.    What level of prosperity can an earner of 30,000 naira attain as prices of goods and services are running far ahead of income in the reality called Nigeria?

3.    With monthly bills like rents (which may cost 3,000 to 8,000 naira depending on location in the case of a single-room apartment), electricity (which may cost 2,000 naira), security (which could cost 500 naira), waste disposal services (that might cost 350 naira), food (which may cost 15,000 naira), transportation (which could cost at least 8,000 naira), clothing (minimum cost of 2,000 naira), phone calls/data cost (2,000 naira), and miscellaneous (3,000 naira) that amount to 35,850 naira minimum, how would the word “prosperity” be achievable?

4.    Is it not true that each car of the failure-politicians uses more than 300 litres of petrol monthly (excluding other costs of maintenance)? Mathematically, that amounts to 43,500 naira.

5.     Is it with this kind of income that Buhari and Osinbajo sent their children to study in universities in the United Kingdom or the United States?
The answers to the questions above could be guessed with simple common sense which unfortunately is not common.
In the exploration of this issue, the purchasing power of the naira is the core. Now, the Nigerian currency is so weak that even an American insect probably has more value than the naira. And conversely, a Nigerian elephant can now be purchased with cash that is equal to the worth of a British loaf of bread.
In all ways and every way, all the outcomes of governance in Nigeria are obviously one; implementation of poverty promoting policies.
