Silence and Propaganda
The positive
changes the world had ever felt in politics, sciences, literature etc. and
those that are being enjoyed by millions of people all over the world are
results of significant intellectual efforts.
How programming codes for software
developments and hardware controls were conceived and brought to reality
enjoyed productive silence too. But for those who fall into the opposite
category, they make more noise. Practically, noisemakers in politics are inherently
insecure and become under achievers. Even with so much noise made by Adolf
Hitler and other allies of his, Germany collapsed and it was rebuilt through
the hard work of intellectually determined people. Ironically, the names and
efforts of most of them are not accounted for by books of history. They were not
recognized because they were never in positions of political or military
authority.
President Trump and President Xi Jinping |
Don't wonder much.
The globally known example of a noisemaker in the world today is in the White
House. Supposedly, you know the referent to whom “he” refers in the next
sentence. Arguably, he is the
weakest president in the globe. He appoints individuals into the administration
he leads during a one-to-one discussion. But when it is time to end such
appointments, he builds the wall of Twitter around himself. He hires physically
and fire senior members of staff on Twitter. Is fear accountable for such?
Though the
President of China, Xi Jinping, may be or may not be a dictator (let the final judgment
be yours), he is not a noisemaker. Without being told or having sleepless
nights on Twitter, he knows that China is the biggest economy in the globe.
This is valid as long as economic gigantism is connected to indices like: (1) number
of consumers in a state and (2) positive trend of the purchasing power of a
national currency.
In order to
differentiate intellectualism from propagandist presidency Xi remains quiet as
the secretary general and chairman of the Communist Party of China as the man
in the White House continues to create storms in a tea cup. After waiting for
two years, Trump’s War against China was simply answered by President Xi who states:
“Thinking that one's own race and
culture are superior, and insisting on transforming or even replacing other
civilisations, is stupid in its understanding and disastrous in practice.”
Who is *stupid* in
this context? Which culture is acclaimed to be superior?
